Ralpho Township is a municipality located in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 4,186.

 

Geography

According to the US Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 18.5 square miles, none of which is covered with water.

 

Demographics

As of the census of 2020, there were 4,186 people, 1,765 households, and 1,050 families residing in the township. The population density was 226.3 people per square mile. There were 1,921 housing units at an average density of 103.8/sq mi. The racial makeup of the township was 95.2% White, 0.4% Black or African American, 0.8% Asian, and 2.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.7% of the population.

 

There were 1,765 households out of which 17.67% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.5% were married couples living together, 23.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 13.0% had a male householder with no wife present. 

 

In the township the population was spread out with 19.9% under the age of 18, and 25.6% age 65 or over. Occupied housing units totaled 1,765 with 85.3% owner-occupied and 14.7% renter-occupied units.

 

As of the 2024 American Community Survey, the median income for a household in the township was $117,778, and the median income for a family was $127,470. About 3.7% of the population were below the poverty line.
